Carer-Inclusive Workplace Initiative | For Carer Inclusivity
At Carers SA we have over 70% of our staff have lived experience as Carers, we deeply understand the challenges of balancing work and care responsibilities.
We actively promote:
- Flexible work arrangements
- Creating more Carer-friendly policies and practice for staff
These practices help ensure our staff feel empowered and valued—not just as professionals, but as individuals with caring responsibilities.
Carers SA is a proud participant in the Carer Inclusive Workplace Initiative, a national movement aimed at creating more inclusive, supportive environments for working Carers. We encourage other organisations to join us in recognising the vital role Carers play in our communities and workplaces.
As part of our ongoing dedication to supporting Carers, Carers SA is currently undergoing the Level 1 Accreditation process through the Carer and Employer Accreditation framework and will further embed us as a Carer inclusive workplace.
This accreditation reflects our commitment to:
- Embedding Carer support into our organisational culture
- Continually improving our policies and practices
- Leading by example as the Peak body across the sector
Accreditation will further strengthen our ability to support our staff and inspire other employers to follow suit.
