Carers SA Bids Farewell to CEO David Militz as He Embarks on a New Chapter
After more than 10 dedicated years with Carers SA, CEO David Militz has announced he will step down in December 2024, after more than 8 years at the helm.
David has announced his resignation as he charters into a new and exciting chapter of his career. “I am extremely proud of what our team has been able to achieve since 2014 and how we have been able to support Carers across several different models of service. I am confident that I leave the organisation in a really strong position and that it will continue to do great things. The last ten and a half years have been amazing, and I’ll always be a strong advocate for Carers.”
Carers SA Board President Tony Simmons expressed gratitude for David’s exceptional leadership, highlighting the significant growth and evolution the organisation has achieved under his guidance. Since 2020, David has led Carers SA as the lead Carer Gateway provider for South Australia, a critical role that included navigating the organisation through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Through David’s vast experience and vision, he has steered Carers SA through a period of remarkable transformation, growing the team from 40 to over 120 staff, now supporting unpaid Carers across metropolitan and regional areas in South Australia,” Tony noted.
David joined Carers SA in 2014 as Executive Manager Community Services and became CEO in 2016. Over his tenure, he has overseen Carers SA’s growth into the largest, and only statewide, Carer-focused organisation in South Australia. With David’s leadership and oversight, Carers SA has continued the delivery of high-quality services and unwavering support for Carers of all ages.
“The Board deeply appreciates David’s leadership, integrity, and the compassion he has brought to his role. He has profoundly shaped the organisation with his dedication, and his impact will be felt long after his departure,” Tony added.
The search for a new CEO is now underway to ensure a seamless transition into 2025.
