National Carers Week, dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating Carers in Australia, will be held from Sunday 12 to Saturday 18 October 2025.
National Carers Week is a time to recognise, celebrate and raise awareness about the 3 million Australians who provide care to a family member or friend.
This year’s theme is You are one, know one or will be one.
Caring is everywhere. Carers are our neighbours, work mates, family and friends, many are often quietly providing vital support. Many people don’t even realise they are Carers, seeing what they do simply as part of being a partner, parent, child or friend. This year’s theme reminds us that caring touches every life. You may already be a Carer, you likely know one, and chances are you will be one at some point in your life. Anyone at any time can become a Carer.
National Carers Week is an opportunity to educate and raise awareness among all Australians about the diversity of Carers and their caring roles.
How Can You Show Your Support?
There are so many meaningful ways you can show your support for South Australia’s Carers.
Reach out to a Carer you know. A simple check-in on how they are can go a long way—let them know they are seen, valued and appreciated.
Host a gathering. Organise a morning tea or lunch in your workplace, community group, or among friends to raise awareness of the vital role Carers play.
Offer a helping hand. Ask if there’s something you can do to make their caring role just a little bit easier.
Share Carers SA resources. Spread the word during National Carers Week by sharing posters, newsletters, and social media posts from our resource toolkit.
