NDIS REFORM RESPONSE
The Australian Government is considering major changes through the proposed NDIS Amendment Bill 2026. Carers SA has made a submission to ensure the voices of Carers and people with disability are heard.
We are calling for reforms that:
Protect the rights, dignity and choice of people with disability Ensure families and unpaid Carers are not expected to fill gaps left by reduced supports Recognise that disability support is not the same as ordinary parenting Address rising NDIS costs through stronger oversight of providers and the system, not by reducing supports Protect people from being forced into unnecessary treatments or assessments Maintain fair and timely review rights when circumstances change Ensure new foundational supports are fully available before existing supports are reducedRead our response to NDIS reforms by clicking here
